From the beginning, science and demonic power have been incompatible-- Just as intercourse between humans and youkai is taboo. It disturbs the balance of things, causing a surge in the negative direction. p15 SanButsuShin Genjou Sanzou! I have hereby appointed you. Why have you appointed three Youkai to accompany me? SanButsuShin Those three are indeed Youkai.. and yet, they are also human. This is why the surge of negativity has not affected them. Sanzou Of course I can appreciate the value of their true power. However, the very blood that flows through their bodies is suspect. Who can know when their blood will take over, and they'll turn around and sink their fangs into me? Placing one's trust in such a group is nothing short of an act of suicide. p29 SanButsuShin Whether it's their true intentions or merely a facade, you cannot change the reality of the matter. Sanzou Graciously, I admit that it may be possible to put my trust in them.
